Obituary of Ronald Harry Walbank

Obituary Passed away peacefully at Hospice Huntsville on October 17th, 2019 surrounded by his close friends. Ron at the strong hearted age of 84, was the husband of Margaret, proud father of K.C. (Michelle) and a much loved and cherished "Grandpa Ron" of Mackenzie and Myles. Ron was born in Toronto on October 3, 1935. He graduated from Upper Canada College and then went on to study at the University of Toronto and Ontario Teachers' college. After teaching public school in Toronto for 15 years, Ron took his passion of aquatics and his joy of with children to operating Swallowdale summer Camp which had been in his family since its' inception in 1943. Ron had many interests, but was known especially for his love of competitive swimming. He swam for U of T and Etobicoke, then coached for North York. Ron is fondly remembered by his family in France and Canada, Swallowdale campers and staff, and his many friends. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Greg Stewart for his compassionate and continued medical care, and also to the staff at the Hospice Huntsville. Cremation has taken place.
