The family of Norma Eunice Resmer(nee Hoelke) are saddened to announce that she passed away peacefully in South Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge, Ontario on March 30th at the age of 85. Loving mother to her daughter, Kim(Jeff) Mangaroff, of Huntsville. Proud Nana to Ryan(Tanya), Erin(Toby), Kellen(Pascalle), Bryne(Ashley), Lachlan and Ella, as well as beloved great Nana to Abby, Dillan, Collin and Harper. Norma is survived by her sisters Aileen(Edgar)Roesler, Sandra Resmer, Donna Cunliffe and Sheila(Brian)Baker. She is predeceased by her husbands Mervin Risto and Bernard Resmer, her mother Christine(Art)Wendt and daughter Wanda(Paul)Dupras. Norma was born on February 13th, 1935 in Maynooth, Ontario to Christine Gutall. Throughout her life she lived in a number of communities including Golden Lake, Pembroke, Kiosk, Wasaga Beach, Mattawa and finally Huntsville. Her life was dedicated to caring for people as Beaver Leader, a school yard/lunch supervisor, a PSW and most importantly a loving Mother, Nana and Aunt. Norma's faith led her to become an active Anglican Church member in all the communities she lived throughout her life. An avid traveler throughout the province and beyond, she never missed an opportunity to stop her car, smell the flowers, chat with a new friend and pick a pail of wild blueberries. She was happiest when her kitchen was full of family eating all the yummy baking she made for them. The family is grateful for the compassionate nurses and Dr. Gleason who cared for her in the Bracebridge hospital, we always knew she was in good hands. A special thank you to Dr. Branigan and the PSW's from Closing the Gap for their exceptional care of Mom in the past couple of years. A Celebration of Norma's life will be held at a later date for family and friends. As a expression of sympathy a donation in Norma's name may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society or St. Alban the Martyr Anglican Church in Mattawa which was dear to her heart (donations can be mailed to the Church at Box 205, Mattawa, ON P0H 1V0.)
