Obituary of Margaret Irene Brooker

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Irene Brooker on July 6, 2020 at the age of 85 in her “little house" in Port Sydney as she wished. Marg was born on December 18, 1934 to the late Joseph and Odokia Meldrum (Sawcher) in Dresden, Ontario. Marg was the soul mate to the late Gerald Brooker, the mother to the late Barry Brooker, Belinda Saunders (Steve) and Bradley Brooker (Leonise). Marg was the grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Marg will be dearly missed by her siblings, Dave Meldrum (the late Shirley Meldrum) and (Jennifer) of PEI, Dora Jinkerson (late Andrew Jinkerson) of Huntsville, Susie (deceased), Rita of Huntsville and Laura (Rick) of Park Hill. Marg will be deeply missed by all; including her close friends, church family and many other people that Marg had influenced in her 85 years. Marg really enjoyed watching sports; from football because of the tight pants, to hockey where she cheered on the Toronto Maple leafs, to baseball where the Blue Jay’s were her favourite and not to mention the curling matches she watched. When they were on the world stopped as she cheered on her favourite teams. Marg looked forward to “flower week" every year so she could spend time with family and spruce up her gardens ,another favourite past time, all at the same time. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on July 25, 2020 for immediate family and close friends where she will be reunited with the love of her life Jerry who she missed dearly every day. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Huntsville Hospice Foundations.
