Obituary of Deborah Lynn Haskin

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah Lynn Haskin (nee Lehman), age 56 on September 3, 2020. Cherished wife of Darrell Allan Haskin and beloved mother to Brian Eric Wells. Treasured daughter-in-law to John and Leona Haskin. Predeceased by father Wayne Trevor Lehman, stepmother Gail Beverly Lehman and mother Sandra Georgina Moffatt. She will be profoundly missed by her siblings, Daniel Lehman (Janet), Glenn Lehman, Melinda Lehman (Terry) and her many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Deb spent most of her adult life living in Northern Ontario with husband Darrell doing what they loved – staying close to nature while fishing, camping, and gardening. Her uncanny ability to hit the tin can every time during target practice was concerning. While it was out of her comfort zone, she embraced and cherished trips with her sister to Arizona, Paris and New York. Deb demonstrated an incredible capacity to care for others throughout her entire life. As a hairstylist, her greatest gift was her ability to bring dignity and joy to her elderly customers. A woman of strength who always took on more than her fair share of caring for others, especially when each one of her parents had failing health. Her strength was most evident in her almost 3 year battle against cancer. It was important to her to make that journey easier on others with her calm and pragmatic outlook combined with her unfailing sense of humour. Husband Darrell and family are appreciative of the exceptional compassionate care shown by her doctors and staff at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital. We are particularly grateful to Drs. Rebecca Kent, Stacey Erven, Deb Harrold and Isabel Li. Thank you to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and Sunnybrook for additional care that they provided. Deb’s family is deeply grateful for the pure loving devotion provided by her husband Darrell throughout her entire journey. A small intimate family gathering will be held to honour Deb. It is the family’s wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Huntsville District Memorial Hospital.
